Mission 

The mission of the Georgia Department of Defense social media program is to provide the public, as well as its service members, with a more transparent view of its overall mission, vision, values and strategy.​​​​​​​

Program Overview

The Ga DoD operates a robust, fast-paced and engaging 24-hr 7 days a week social media operation with a monthly reach averaging over 500K and a rapidly growing engaged following of over 100K people.

During a Defense Support of Civil Authorities Operation, the agency’s social media platforms quickly reach millions of citizens who depend on fast, accurate, disaster relief messaging and response. Because of this, the operations for the agency's social media program have drastically increased, making it a key secondary central form of communication within the agency. 

The social media team works cohesively with the other arms of the public affair's office (media relations, production, community affairs and history) to produce on average 300+ organic posts per month for use along the social media platforms. The strategy of retaining organic products attributes to the success and growth of the agency’s platforms. ​​​​​​​
