The Georgia National Guard Counterdrug Task Force is a dedicated partner to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, committed to the mission of dismantling illegal drug networks throughout Georgia. Recognizing the complex challenges faced by the law enforcement community, our organization is structured to provide superior support and enhance operational capabilities. To empower our partners, our expert criminal analysts process and deliver detailed findings directly to the law enforcement agencies they support. In turn, our highly trained ground reconnaissance detachment operates under the direction of their supported agency, acting upon the information provided to them to execute missions requiring discreet observation and direct interdiction.
Our specialized aviation detachment offers a critical aerial perspective, enabling effective tracking and operational oversight that can be a decisive factor for mission success. This integrated approach ensures that from the initial lead to final enforcement, partner agencies receive robust, military-grade support. Furthermore, our Drug Demand Reduction Outreach program works proactively within communities to address the root causes of substance abuse through education and prevention initiatives. This effort helps to reduce future crime and reinforces the partnership between law enforcement and the public. By combining the capabilities of these four distinct detachments, the Counterdrug Task Force functions as a powerful force multiplier, providing the specialized personnel, equipment, and expertise necessary to achieve our shared goal of a safer, drug-free Georgia.
