State Resilience Office

The GAARNG State Resilience Program is committed to strengthening the mental, physical, emotional, and behavioral wellbeing of Georgia Guardsmen. Through Master Resilience Training, we equip Soldiers with practical skills that build confidence, enhance performance, and support healthy responses to stress and adversity.

Our program focuses on teaching proven resilience techniques that help Soldiers stay mission-ready, maintain balance, and thrive both in uniform and at home. By fostering a culture of resilience, we empower Guardsmen to overcome challenges, support their teammates, and grow through every stage of their military service.

Our Mission in Suicide Prevention

The Georgia Army National Guard is dedicated to safeguarding the wellbeing of our Soldiers and strengthening the communities that support them. Our Suicide Prevention Program works to:

• Reduce suicidal actions by promoting awareness, early intervention, and connectedness.
• Reduce the stigma around seeking help so every Soldier feels confident reaching out when they need support.
• Help Soldiers recognize warning signs and risk factors associated with suicide—both in themselves and in their battle buddies.
• Equip Soldiers with practical intervention and postvention skills to respond effectively during moments of crisis and in the healing that follows.

By empowering our force with knowledge, resources, and a culture of care, we strive to ensure no Soldier faces challenges alone. Together, we can save lives and build resilience across the Georgia Army National Guard.

GAARNG State Substance Abuse Program

The Georgia Army National Guard’s State Substance Abuse Program is committed to helping Soldiers address substance-related challenges with responsibility, respect, and support. Our program ensures that every Soldier has access to professional guidance, recovery resources, and a structured process that promotes accountability and wellbeing.
Soldiers who test positive for illicit drugs are required to enroll in the program. Enrollment may also occur through command-directed referrals for alcohol concerns or through self-referral. Prevention Managers provide Soldiers with a variety of licensed provider options, and while payment for services is the responsibility of the individual Soldier, reduced-cost options are available based on personal circumstances.
Each enrolled Soldier is paired with a Prevention Coordinator who provides case management throughout their recovery journey. Upon successful completion, a certificate is issued to both the Soldier and JAG. In accordance with TAG policy, this completion certificate must be included in any retention packet related to illicit drug use.
As part of our commitment to accessible support, Soldiers also have access to MyPrime, a free 20-hour online alcohol and drug education program designed to increase awareness, strengthen decision-making, and promote healthier choices

Georgia Army National Guard State Drug Testing Program

The Georgia Army National Guard’s State Drug Testing Program plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, ready, and reliable force. Our mission is to ensure a drug-free environment that supports the health, performance, and professionalism of every Soldier.
The program conducts regular and random drug testing to reinforce accountability and uphold the high standards expected of military service. Testing helps identify early concerns, provide appropriate referrals, and ensure Soldiers receive the support they need to stay mission-ready.
With clear procedures, consistent oversight, and a commitment to fairness, the State Drug Testing Program strengthens unit readiness, promotes responsible decision-making, and fosters a culture where Soldiers can thrive personally and professionally.
