Mission Statement

The mission of the MFSB is to support the Georgia Department of Defense's readiness mission by providing education, support, and resources through community, state, and federal programs that ensure Service Members, Families, and Veterans have the knowledge, and resiliency to succeed in their civilian and military careers.

Soldier and Family Readiness Specialists (SFRS) provide assistance and non-medical case management to Service Members and Families on a variety of subjects. The SFRS focuses on both Family Assistance and Family Readiness, examples of activities associated with each role are:

The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) is a Department of Defense-wide effort to promote the well-being of National Guard and Reserve Service Members, their Families and communities, by connecting them with resources throughout the deployment cycle. Through Yellow Ribbon events, Service members and loved ones connect with local resources before, during, and after deployments. These events provide assistance with:

Transition Assistance Advisors assist Reserve Component Service Members transition from active service in navigating through the numerous Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs systems' benefits and entitlements.

The GA National Guard Family Support Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable corporation that provides financial assistance on an emergency relief basis to members of the Georgia National Guard. ESGR assists with recognition of supportive employers through the ESGR Awards Program (nominate an employer for the Patriot Award online at esgr.mil) and works to resolve reemployment conflicts and issues of discrimination between employers and Service Members that arise due to military service.
