Headquartered at Robins Air Force Base, the 116th Air Control Wing has transitioned from the E-8C JSTARS mission to a new focus on advanced battle management and command and
control. After concluding more than two decades of JSTARS operations, the wing is now integrating new capabilities centered on Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), Battle Management Command and Control (BMCS), and cyber warfare.
This modernization includes the construction of a new, multi-million-dollar Battle Management Combined Operations Complex designed to consolidate several command and control, spectrum warfare, and reconnaissance missions. This facility will serve as a hub for future warfighting capabilities.
The 116th Air Control Wing supports several geographically separated units, including the 139th Intelligence Squadron at Fort Gordon, the 202nd Engineering Installation Squadron at Robins, and the 283rd Combat Communications Squadron in Marietta.
