201st Regional Support Group, Region IV Homeland Response Force 

The 201st RSG’s mission is to provide trained and ready troops to support overseas contingency operations and to man, train and equip a homeland response force (HRF) to provide assistance to civil authorities in saving lives and mitigating human suffering in response to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear incidents. To achieve its mission, the 201st is comprised of the 170th Military Police Battalion in Decatur while the brigade headquarters, 4th Civil Support Team, 265th Chemical Battalion, and the 870th Engineer Detachment are stationed in Marietta. The 201st is one of ten HRFs in the National Guard. Each HRF is the designated response element for a Federal Emergency Management Agency Region. As the HRF for Region IV, the 201st capabilities are designed to respond to emergencies in the eight states From Florida to North Carolina and west to Mississippi.

Mission Statement:

Provide base operations support, command and control of assigned/attached units, and support of homeland security/defense and civil support missions. On order man, train, and equip a Homeland Response Force (HRF) to provide a response capability to assist civil authorities in saving lives and mitigating suffering in response to a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) incident while continuing to provide trained and ready troops to support overseas contingency operation


Vision Statement:

The 201st RSG will “be grounded in green and ready for white” - postured to answer the call whenever it may come. We will have consistently high readiness levels across all formations. Our units and staffs will be lethal in combat capabilities, expertly led, and able to operate as decentralized as the current and future battlespace requires. Exceeding mission standards defines our culture. We will accomplish this by coaching and developing our people to be the most successful leaders and Soldiers they can be. Our brigade will be: an organization in which all members are excited to come to work; a brigade that grows and retains its talented leaders, and the best RSG and Homeland Response Force (HRF) in every measurable category among the 54 states and territories.
