78th Troop Command

With nearly 1,900 Soldiers in its ranks, the 78th TC conducts mission command, force protection, force deployment and sustainment operations in order to provide ready forces for global and domestic requirements. Other missions may include command of assigned forces employed in support of civil authorities, during civil support operations and other possible emergencies. The major units of the 78th TC include the Fort Gillem-based 221st Intelligence and Electromagnetic Warfare Battalion, Tifton-based 110th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Marietta-based 122nd Regiment (Regional Training Institute), the Douglasville-based

560th Battlefield Coordination Detachment & 122nd Tactical Support Detachment and 781st Troop Command Detachment as well as the Georgia Garrison Training Center at Fort Stewart, Ga. The 78th TC has the most diverse mission set and organization in the Georgia National Guard. It is home to the Georgia National Guard’s largest battalion, the 110th CSSB, and its smallest, most specialized detachments.

Mission Statement:


78th TC builds individual Soldier readiness and collective proficiency at the Squad, Platoon, and Company-level, to react swiftly and professionally to both forecasted and unpredicted State and National crises and to posture our formations for higher-level collective training and contingency operations.

Vision Statement:

A 78th Troop Command formation that is highly trained, disciplined, and operational; capable of generating ready and relevant formations for the Joint Force or the Governor during operations here at home; with Soldiers, NCOs, Officers, Families and Civilians who are resilient and proud to be members of the 78th Troop Command, the Georgia Army National Guard and the United States Army.
